What is Cleverday’s purpose?
Top 8 of the deskless industries employ 2.7 billion people globally. In other terms, three out of four people in the workforce consist of frontline workers. This means workers who are out on the field, outside of the office surroundings, dealing with their daily tasks in highly volatile situations.
These top deskless industries include agriculture, education, healthcare, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, transportation and construction. As these industries are known for having varying levels of difficulty in adopting new tech, Cleverday’s goal is to provide them a beneficial instructional platform that they can adopt easily.
The main purpose of Cleverday is to be a helpful tool for companies, who are looking for new, improved ways to structure their workflow. The traditional ways are mostly built on from-top-to-bottom type of bureaucracy, but we believe that they often don’t give enough avenues for the frontline workers to submit their feedback.
People who work in the frontline have first-hand experience in the company’s daily operations. Therefore they often have a lot of insight in how standard work instructions actually play out on a daily basis. We see their agency and mutual interaction with the management as something that has a great potential for making a huge positive impact on the company’s always ongoing development.
Being able to communicate and to give direct feedback about the ongoing tasks creates an environment of inclusiveness and gratification, that leads to a healthy interaction between the workers and the management, while harnessing more of the faculty’s brain power for the company’s benefit.
Even though productivity and efficiency are key factors to a successful business, they often come with the cost of the employee experience. We want to ease the daily life of the deskless frontline workers and the management while improving on these key factors.
Secondly, because of today’s hectic working environments, the workers must be trained to be adaptive. The companies might (and often will) come across some of these scenarios:
- The workers might have to step in to cover for a job that isn’t their field of expertise and the management might not always be around to guide them through the procedure
- They might be newly hired faculty in the middle of a busy season when it’s difficult to find time to teach them their jobs optimally
- They might’ve been given the proper training, but they can simply forget things because after all, we’re humans
- Or they might simply have so much on their plate, that it becomes a challenge to remember all the things that need to be done, even for a seasoned worker etc.
Because of all listed above, countless companies are now investing in mobile technology solutions to make the workflow more efficient and optimized. There are already numerous innovative solutions that are making our lives easier in the workplace, such as smart rings and badges, advanced workflow analytics and other remote guidance solutions.
Despite these advancements, we at Cleverday still see a clear problem when it comes to improving the connectivity and communication in the workplace – and that is the lack of easily accessible work instructions and documentation out in the field.
To solve these problems, Cleverday offers a peer-to-peer guidance platform that lets you create and share simple how-to instructions that include a direct channel for employee feedback. This platform is designed for mobile devices so it will always travel with your faculty, regardless of their location, situation or assignment.
What is our mission?
Cleverday is a mobile application that allows you to create How-to instructions by using text, audio, pictures and video. What we want to accomplish with our platform is to give companies a tool to assist their frontline employees in daily operations and training.
We want the app to suit businesses of all sizes. It comes with different tiers of subscriptions, all of which offer an increasing number of functionalities and properties as you go up the tier list.
Because 80 % of the global workforce is still deskless, there’s a huge opportunity for empowering the workers with new tech solutions. The aforementioned eight example industries are increasing their spending in deskless technology by 50-100% depending on the industry as we speak.
That’s why we’re determined to prove that Cleverday is a solution that will have a visible positive impact on employee and customer satisfaction, training efficiency and time-spending. These elements will eventually lead up to continuously improving and learning organization.
It all started with a wibe
Six years ago, we founded a Finnish startup company called Wibe Academy. We wanted to build fancy technology for mobile eLearning. And as fairly often happens, we followed the traditional development path: sit with the client experts, learn the process, and then deliver the latest technology.
Most of our clients loved our product,
the end-users adored it and
life was pretty good.
As our business grew step-by-step (but did not serve well the small and medium-size companies), we started getting bombarded with requests to build simple how-to instructions tools for mobile remote guidance. We knew well that Wibe Academy did not fulfill those requirements and our international operations did not scale as expected.
Over the course of six years – learning by doing, working long hours and experimenting with different technologies and use cases, we finally did it: we renewed our business model and developed a new, bold and totally kickass Cleverday SaaS product – an easy-to-use mobile app that helps you create and share paperless how-to instructions for anyone who wants to get things done right.
Cleverday app will be first available in English and our ambitions are high to make a big difference in improving our customer’s work productivity around the world.
